Description:  In 2009, ECHO DCL bid on and was eventually awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from the Bureau of Indian Affairs for portable, modular classrooms across the country.  The BIA had identified a need for these classrooms and after an extensive qualifying process, the BIA chose ECHO DCL as its modular classroom provider.

After having already successfully completed portable, modular classroom buildings in Mariano Lake and Borrego Pass, the BIA identified another need for classroom space, this time in San Idelfonso area of New Mexico.  San Idelfonso is about 20 miles northwest of Santa Fe.  Like Mariano Lake and Borrego Pass before, San Idelfonso is in a very rural and mountainous area of New Mexico.  Because of its remote location, resources such as schools and other business are scarce at San Idelfonso, thus the need for ECHO DCL’s portable, modular classrooms.

At San Idelfonso, ECHO DCL completed the design and construciton of one portable classroom totaling 1,680 square feet.  ECHO DCL team members provided a full turnkey solution for the BIA that included installing a fire alarm, gutters and downspouts and completing all utility connections.  This successful modular classroom project was completed in 42 days.
