Sonoita, AZ–ECHO DCL wins an expansion project from The Department of Homeland Security (DHS). ECHO DCL is providing a design-build modular office for The Sonoita Border Patrol Station. The station is one of eight in the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector. It is responsible for nearly 27 miles of the border, most of which runs along the San Rafael Valley. The Sonoita Station utilizes a multi-tiered, deterrence-based operational strategy in which agents are deployed in highly visible and strategic locations. Approximately 300 agents at Sonoita are responsible for 1,000 square miles. The Station needs a modular building to accommodate new personnel.
The expansion was made possible by recent congressional funding and is a part of the Secure Border Initiative. Among other border security initiatives are increased hiring of agents and officers, enhanced intelligence and operational integration, including Unmanned Aerial Systems; and other technology programs. ECHO DCL will provide full turnkey services and oversee this project from inception to completion including site preparation, grading, excavation, concrete foundation, steps, decks, sidewalks and utility preparation. ECHO DCL is honored to provide the 4000 square foot modular office building, which will be used by agents who help secure our nation’s border.
