Description:  In 2009, ECHO DCL bid on and was eventually awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quality (IDIQ) contract from the Bureau of Indian Affairs for portable, modular classrooms across the country.  The BIA had identified a need for these classrooms and after an extensive qualifying process, the BIA close ECHO DCL as its modular classroom provider.

One of the first locations the BIA identified as needing modular classroom space was at Mariano Lake in New Mexico.  Mariano Lake is located about a hundred miles west of Albuquerque, in a very rural and mountainous area of western New Mexico.  Because of its remote location, resources such as schools and other business are scarce at the Mariano Lake,  thus the need for ECHO DCL’s portable, modular classrooms.

At Mariano Lake, ECHO DCL completed the design and construction of one portable classroom totaling 1,680 square feet.  ECHO DCL team members provided a full turnkey solution for the BIA that included installing a fire alarm, sidewalks and completing all utility connections.  This successful modular classroom project was completed in less than a month.
